by L.M.Verrier
Recorded in the BBC MediaCity studios, with members of the BBC Philharmonic. On this page, you can learn about this recording and the inspiration and the story behind these world premiere recordings.
This CD features two original compositions by L. M. Verrier. The first piece (The Great River) for large orchestra, is the story of the St Lawrence River in Canada being born from a violent glacial retreat and it's primordial journey as it empties and dissipates into the ocean. The second piece (Fleeting) is a rhapsodic dream and follows a true story - the sinking of the Empress of Ireland on the river - where more than 1000 passengers drowned.
